HP Wolf Security Screen During Startup
Issue
In some cases, your laptop may become stuck at the HP logo with the Wolf Security badge displayed underneath during startup. This issue is most commonly seen after a recent Windows update.
Resolution
Follow the steps below to restore normal startup:
Step 1: Force the Laptop to Power Off
- Press and hold the Power button until the laptop completely shuts down.
- Wait a few seconds.
Step 2: Turn the Laptop Back On
- Press the Power button to start the laptop.
- The system may attempt to launch Windows Recovery.
Step 3: If Prompted for a BitLocker Recovery Key
If a BitLocker recovery screen appears, you may be asked to enter your BitLocker Recovery Key.
Step 4: Power Off the Laptop Again
- Once the BitLocker prompt appears (or after Windows Recovery loads), press and hold the Power button until the laptop turns off again.
Step 5: Start the Laptop Normally
- Press the Power button to turn the laptop back on.
- Windows should now boot normally.

Note: This issue is typically temporary and is often related to a recent Windows update. The steps above resolve the problem in most cases.
