Purpose / Overview
This article explains how to use Secure Client to connect remotely to the Champion Network when working away from company office locations. The connection process uses SAML authentication, including Microsoft multifactor authentication (MFA).
Prerequisites
Before connecting, ensure:
- You are working away from a company office location and need remote access to the network.
- Your device is connected to the internet (for example, from home, a hotel, or an airport).
- You have access to Microsoft Authenticator on your phone to complete MFA.
Connection Instructions
Step 1: Connect to the Internet
Connect your device to an internet connection, such as a home network, hotel network, or airport Wi‑Fi.
Your computer will tell you that you do not have internet. This is by design. We do not allow the computer to access any internet until the VPN is connected. If you see "Connected, No Internet" you can proceed.
Step 2: Sign In to Secure Client
When connected to the internet, the Cisco Secure Client login window opens. Click connect, then sign in using your email address.
If the window does not open on its own, you can manually open it by clicking the secure client logo in the bottom right corner, or by searching for it in the start menu.
Step 3: Complete Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
After signing in, complete the Microsoft multifactor authentication process using your phone.
Important: MFA must be completed before access is granted.
Step 4: Accept the Terms of Use
After MFA is successful, accept the Terms of Use policy when prompted.
Step 5: Access the Network
Once the Terms of Use have been accepted, you are connected to the Champion Network.
